*श्री केशव की हिन्दू धर्म पर उत्तरोत्तर अधिकाधिक श्रद्धा* 

इस प्रकार अनेक स्थानों में श्रीरामकृष्ण ने वार्तालाप के सिलसिले में श्री केशवचन्द्र सेन को अनेक प्रकार के उपदेश दिए थे । बेलघर में प्रथम दर्शन के बाद केशव ने २८ मार्च १८७५ ई. के. रविवारवाले ‘मिरर’ समाचार पत्र में लिखा था~

.

“हमने थोड़े दिन हुए दक्षिणेश्वर के परमहंस श्रीरामकृष्ण का बेलघर के बगीचे में दर्शन किया है । उनकी गम्भीरता, अन्तर्दृष्टि, बालस्वभाव देख हम मुग्ध हुए हैं । वे शान्तस्वभाव तथा कोमल प्रकृति के हैं और देखने से ऐसे लगते हैं मानो सदा योग में रहते हैं । इस समय हमारा ऐसा अनुमान हो रहा है कि हिन्दू धर्म के गम्भीरतम स्थलों का अनुसन्धान करने पर कितनी सुन्दरता, सत्यता तथा साधुता देखने को मिल सकती है ! यदि ऐसा न होता तो परमहंस की तरह इश्वरी भाव में भावित योगी पुरुष देखने में कैसे आते१ ?” (१.We met not long ago Paramhansa of Dakshineshwar, and were charmed by the depth, penetration and simplicity of his spirit . The never-ceasing metaphors and analogiess in which he indulged, are most of them as apt as they are beautiful. The characteristics of his mind are the very opposite to those of Pandit Dayananda Sarasvati, the former being so gentle, tender and contemplative as the latter is sturdy, masculine and polemical.

१८७६ ई. के जनवरी में फिर माघोत्सव आया । उन्होंने टाउनहाल में भाषण दिया । विषय था- ब्राह्म धर्म और हमारा अनुभव(Our Faith and Experiences) इसमें भी उन्होंने हिन्दू धर्म की सुन्दरता के सम्बन्ध में अनेक बातें कही थीं२. ।(२. “If the ancient Vedic Aryan is gratefully honoured today for having taught us the deep truth of the Nirakar or the bodiless spirit, the same loyal homage is due to the later Puranic Hindu for having taught us religious feelings in all their breadth and depth.”

“In the days of the Vedas and the Vedanta, India was all Communion(Yoga). In the days of the Puranas India was all Emotion(Bhakti). The highest and the best feelings of religion have been cultivated under the guardianship of specific divinities.”-‘Our Faith and Experinces’ –Lecture delivered in January 1877)

श्रीरामकृष्ण उन पर जैसा स्नेह रखते थे, केशव की भी उनके प्रति वैसी ही भक्ति थी । प्रायः प्रति वर्ष ब्राह्मोत्सव के समय तथा अन्य समय भी केशव दक्षिणेश्वर में जाते थे और उन्हें कमलकुटीर में ले आते थे । कभी कभी अकेले कमलकुटीर के दूसरे मँजले पर उपासनागृह में उन्हें परम अन्तरंग मानते हुए भक्ति के साथ ले जाते तथा एकान्त में ईश्वर की पूजा करते और आनन्द मनाते थे ।
